Finer Women Don't Haze!

As I scroll the pages of the news looking for interesting tid bits about black greek life, I often run across serious allegations of hazing mostly among panhellenic organizations.  But, we as members of national panhellenic organizations are not exactly in the clear.  For decades, all of our organizations have struggled with combating the ill-conceived tradition of hazing.  African Americans have survived the rigors of institutional harms time and again over the span of centuries.  There is no need for further abuse, degradation or humiliation.  So, what do we do to combat this culture of violence?  Well, our Finer Sisters have elevated their "Finer Women Don't Haze" Program.  Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has long championed anti-hazing initiatives, and has recently partnered with the Hazing Prevention Network to eradicate this financially debilitating and culturally hostile tradition. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

This partnership with the Hazing Prevention Network represents significant progress in Zeta Phi Beta's ongoing efforts to promote safe and respectful membership practices. By collaborating with a leading organization dedicated to hazing prevention, Zeta Phi Beta improves educational programs, provide resources, and foster environments where all members can thrive without fear of hazing-related harm or death (it is not that serious folks).

For members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), this partnership represents a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility to uphold the highest standards of conduct within our organizations. It emphasizes the importance of proactive measures in preventing hazing and reinforces the shared commitment to fostering brotherhood and sisterhood built on respect, dignity, mutual support and mental stability.

As we continue to honor the legacies of our organizations, let us congratulate Zeta Phi Beta's leadership in this important area. By actively engaging in hazing prevention efforts, we not only protect the well-being of our members but also strengthen the integrity and unity of the entire NPHC community.

Together, we can work towards a future where hazing is left to those whose inferiority complexes run amuck, while our organizations continue the work of excellence, leadership, and service.
